Before Bach, Baroque Germany saw the birth of a rich musical tradition carried forward by key figures such as Schütz, Schein, Pachelbel, and Buxtehude. The Maîtrise Notre-Dame de Paris offers a dialogue between these founding composers, combining fervor, light, and depth.

A true golden age of music, the 17th century was marked by an exploration of human emotions and a blossoming of vocal expressiveness. Performing some of the gems from these repertoires, the solists of the Maitrise de Notre-Dame celebrate the diversity of musical languages.

In the 19th century, German choral music flourished magnificently, with most of the great masters of the time composing numerous scores, particularly in the sacred repertoire. Their polyphony combines highly romantic expression with absolute sincerity and fervor, through clear musical settings and striking melodic beauty.
