Some of the most popular concert pieces illustrate the immense expressive range of the great organ at Notre-Dame, with its diversity of repertoire and transcriptions.

On the occasion of her recital at Notre-Dame, Zuzana Ferjenčíková premiered one of her works in which she contemplates the mystery of the Crown of Thorns, a relic preserved in the Cathedral. In the form of a toccata, she explores the ambivalence expressed in Gregorian chants between the instrument of the Passion and the golden crown, symbol of the royal majesty of the Savior.

In the 12th century, a major architectural event marked Paris: the construction of the Gothic cathedral Notre-Dame. This context also fostered a remarkable musical boom, with the emergence of what is known as the Ecole de Notre-Dame (Notre-Dame school of polyphony).

At the crossroads of England and France, this program highlights the subtle resonances between two distinct musical worlds, with a selection of some of the most beautiful motets and anthems from the late 17th century.
