Presentation
As part of the Festival des Heures du Collège des Bernardins, the Adult Choir of the Maîtrise invite you to immerse yourself in the sweetness and joy of the choral universe, on the theme of the Whisper of the Soul through a journey from Renaissance to 21st century.
The Festival des Heures
From their origins, in the East as in the West, the monasteries have followed the rhythm of the Hours, spiritual and musical stops that punctuate daily life, from the matins of dawn to the compline of dusk. The Collège des Bernardins takes up this old use, put at the service of music, to give its original color to the Festival of Hours. Discover a series of concerts to the rhythm of monastic prayers, addressing a classical repertoire, from ancient music to the present day.
This new edition of the Festival des Heures is presented as an invitation to marvel at the power of almost nothing, of the infinitely small, of silence itself, an evocation of the strength of humility, stripping, purity. following the idea that God does not manifest himself in the thunder that rumbles nor in the earthquake but in the light breeze… All conceived as an invitation to renew our way of listening to the meaning of Creation and the murmur of the Soul.
