Mozart, Requiem

Friday, June 28, 2024, 9:00 PM

Cathédrale Saint-Pierre, Saint-Flour (15)

With the Maîtrise Notre-Dame de Paris, its conductor Henri Chalet, and the Orchestre national Au-vergne-Rhône-Alpes, a tour of the architectural jewels of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, in Moulins, Saint-Flour, Le Puy-en-Velay, Brioude and Clermont-Ferrand.

Many legends surround Mozart's Re-quiem.
Mozart's famous Requiem will resound with its dramatic luminous accents, its hope and serenity. The work has given rise to many commentaries: its anony-mous commissioner, the composer's untimely death, the fact that several musi-cians contributed to its completion....
All the legends created around this Requiem should not blind us to its extraordi-nary spiritual density. In it, the composer reveals a little of his apprehension in the face of death, but also his great hope.
