Johann Sebastian Bach, St John Passion
Friday, March 15, 2024, 8:00 PM
Collège des Bernardins, Paris (75)
The St. John Passion is one of the richest and grandest works of its kind, and one of Bach's major works.
An unmissable tradition in Leipzig, the St. John Passion is performed during the Good Friday morning service, exclusively in the Church of St. Nicholas. Johann Sebastian Bach was a major contributor to the Passion's development, bringing together a variety of literary and musical sources for this liturgical monument, and entrusting the evangelist with the most extraordinary recitatives of his time.
